Upper Elementary Room Teachers
Mr. KarlKarl Schlobohm is a young teacher who has long aspired to teach secondary education at a private institution, and he cannot wait to begin what he hopes to be a close and meaningful relationship with the EC Montessori community.
Karl graduated from The Montclair Kimberley Academy in Montclair, New Jersey and he also holds a BA in English with a Concentration in Writing from Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania. As a fervent world traveler, Karl has also lived in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he designed and ran youth outreach programs through ROCK Community Church. There, Karl grew a fondness for the United Kingdom and just recently spent a year in Wales to study for his Master’s Degree. In December, he received his MA in Literary Studies from Aberystwyth University. Karl pursues a diverse range of hobbies and interests. At the age of 14, he spent a month backpacking the Wind River Mountain Range in northern Wyoming as a student with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). At 17, he kayaked for a month in Southeastern Alaska. Some of his other interests include: film, literature, drama and fishing. Also an avid guitarist, he plays at Tidal Creek Fellowship on Lady’s Island. This summer, Karl began a two-year training course at The Houston Montessori Center to become American Montessori Society Certified in the Secondary I and II levels. |
